Barbara Anne Wickstrand was born in Okinawa, Japan then moved to spend her youth on the east coast in Fairfax, Virginia. After living in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, Arizona and Georgia, (with a short stay in France to play semi-professional soccer) Barbara is happy to say that Minnesota has been home for the past 13 years.
Barbara received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications from North Carolina State University. While attending undergraduate school Barbara was a Four Year Starter and Two Year All-American Division I Soccer goal-keeper. She then pursued a Master of Science degree in Sports Management from North Carolina State University. That led her to a two-year internship as an Event Coordinator at Arizona State University. Barbara has worked with the NFL Phoenix Cardinals, the Fiesta Bowl, the 1993 Men’s World Cup Soccer Series and was asked to help assist Arizona State University when it hosted the 1995 Super Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium. She went on to spend ten years as the Division I Soccer Assistant and Head Coach at the University of Minnesota, leading two teams to Big 10 Championships in 1995 and 1997.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area’s reputation for being second to New York City in entertainment, the draw of the four seasons, and the progressive lifestyle were some of the reasons for Barbara’s love of Minnesota. That love nudged her into buying her first Minnesota investment property in 1998. She’s been investing in Minnesota real estate ever since. The last two years have included a multitude of experience in Property Management, Commercial and Residential Real Estate.
Barbara’s real estate interests include recreating space, remodeling, fung shei design, and home staging for sellers. Barbara’s background in coaching and recruiting players required listening and understanding individual needs to find the best fit for the team’s organization. This natural strength as a coach turned into an equally viable strength as a leasing specialist, listening to the needs of clients and finding homes that provide the best overall fit. Barbara possesses a passionate desire to find the right home for tenants and buyers with detailed attention assisting the home owner/investor in creating spaces that are attractive to a potential client. Her greatest desire is to ensure that her clients have choices, quality homes from which to choose and first-class, personable service!
Barbara lives in Inver Grove Heights and specializes in managing homes in the Southeast Metro.
